The 10 Skin Care Don'ts!

Everyone wants to have the perfect skin, and every girl wants to be beautiful. Makeup helps to hide those imperfections, but healthy skin is what counts the most when it comes to beauty. We read articles on the internet, and we will try almost anything to get that flawless look and keep our skin looking young. Literally, we will try anything, but we also know that everything we hear on the internet isn’t true. So, what is right and what is wrong?

 

  1. Not Using Sunscreen

Wear sunscreen! The sun does so much damage to your skin, and while a tan is nice, the sun makes you age like crazy. You will still get a tan while wearing sunscreen. According to cosmetologists it is best to wear face creams or make up with SPF 15 or higher. This helps stop dark spots and wrinkles.

  1. Applying Face Cream to Wet Skin 

One of the biggest myths is that you need to apply cream to your wet skin. It doesn’t keep it hydrated. It’s best to dry your face, use a toner and face cream together.

  1. Not Using A Toner  

It is in your best interest to use a toner before moisturizing. The toner gets rid of excess oils, it helps the moisturizer go deep into your skin layers, and it even shrinks pores. Shrinking pores is the key to younger youthful skin.

  1. Not Drinking Water

Water is pure, and doesn’t have all these chemicals that other drinks have them. Remember you are what you put in your body. 

  1. Eating Junk Food

Eating sweets, fatty foods, and junk food is one of the worst things you can do for your skin. Cosmetologists have said for years that if you want healthy skin you need to eat fresh fruits, veggies, and lean meats.  They have many vitamins including vitamin B , which is crucial to healthy skin. 

  1. Forgetting Your Lips

Your lips are skin, and also an important part of your face according to Kyle Jenner. Having dry and peeling lips is not good, and doesn’t feel good at all when you kiss someone else. Use lips balm, and make this a routine. 

  1. Washing With Super Hot or Super Cold Water

Warm water is best for your skin. Cold and hot water is a skincare don’t because they harm your skin. 

      8. Too Much Makeup

With all the buzz on contouring and strobing trends, it’s easy to over use makeup, specifically face powder. You may not know this, but it clogs your pours. Use papers and blot; they soak up oil and get rid of the shine.

  1. Not Washing Your Face

    I have heard people say over the years, that they don’t wash their face. Why? Because when they do they get breakouts or bumps. This is the worst thing you can do. Your pores are soaking up the makeup bacteria, dirt, and anything else your skin comes in contact with when you don’t wash your face. Get in a routine of washing your face, and those breakouts will go away. 
  2. Using Foaming Face Products

It may sounds crazy, but all those products that foam usually have more chemicals and even more harsh chemicals. You can imagine why that’s not good for your skin. Try to stick with items that have less foam, are all natural and gentle.

     *Bonus: Not Exfoliating

When you don’t exfoliate you leave all the dead skin cells there to just hang out on your face. Exfoliating doesn’t have to be harsh, and it helps clear the skin of imperfections. New skin grows when you exfoliate. It is best to use an all-natural exfoliate, like that of Scrub Me Joe or Shuga-Shuga.
